PLUS!'American Girls' Day Camps

(for girls age 5 and up)

Welcome to our summer day camp program! Throughout the summer we host weekly day camps with a variety of themes. All camps run Monday through Friday and include hands-on learning, plenty of time outdoors, and lots of fun!

BCS garden and goats

Summers at BCS have the same relaxing atmosphere that is provided from September through June. Weekly camp sessions feature arts and crafts as well as nature studies, with the school gardens providing a wealth of learning and outdoor play opportunities. A daily routine that includes reading and writing is also a part of each session.

A highlight every summer is the ‘American Girls’ day camp week. American history comes alive with theater, crafts, games and snacks from each of the time periods featured in the American Girls books. Girls as young as 5 and as old as 18 attend the American Girls week.

Preschool camps are for 3 - 4 year olds and are similar to our regular preschool. Further details about our preschool camps are located towards the bottom of this page.

Day camps are for 5 - 12 year olds (up to 18 for ‘American Girls’) with a different theme each week. See our camp descriptions below.

Camp fees and further information about our camps are listed at the bottom of this page.

Summer Camp Details

Crafts and Games

June 14-18

Art, crafts and games in a relaxing, beginning-of-summer fun week.

International

June 21-25

Not traveling abroad this summer? This camp is a good alternative! We will experience five different cultures through music, games, language and food, as we focus on a different country each day of the week.

Games

June 28-July 2

Have fun learning new games and playing old favorites as we spend the week moving our bodies in cooperative play.

Garden Explorations

July 5-9

Spend some time in the garden and learn about where some of our food comes from. Learn about what grows best in Whatcom County, and visit one of our local farms.

Fantasy and Magic

July 12-16

Do you like dragons and wizards, elves and magic, hobbits and Harry Potter? This camp is for you! We will have fun this week with stories, games and costumes on a magical theme, and perhaps learn a few magic tricks of our own.

Detectives

July 19-23

Joins us as we learn how to crack codes, solve mysteries, and (parents, stop reading here) even get away with mischief! (Ok, parents, you can start reading again.)

American Girls

July 26-30 (Girls only, age 5 and up).

This session has been a much-loved tradition at BCS for more than fifteen years! American history comes alive in this week based on the 'American Girls' stories. We'll have fun arts and crafts, stories, music, games, a play, and a sampling of foods from days gone by. We promise new activities and old-fashioned favorites! For girls age 5 and up. Early registration is advised. Limited to 20 girls. Must be paid in full at time of registration. This camp repeats August 2-6.

Grossology

Grossology (1)

July 26-30

The ‘Grossology’ camps have been a big hit, and are back again for another round of fun. Squeamish shrieks and squeals are the order of the day as we engage in deliciously repulsive projects that help us learn about the gross but cool workings of the human body, as well as the delightfully disgusting inner workings of familiar and unusual animals. Based on the popular Grossology books. This camp repeats August 9-13; children can attend one or both camps.

We regret that our August camps have been cancelled, due to circumstances beyond our control.
